Encounters with Mr. Ed
Here is a story from work this weekend. I do deliveries for lowes for any that were not aware. We had a delivery to some house out in the country. So we pull into their drive, which is more like a gravel road. As we pull in there is a horse in a pen just off the road/drive and it sees us and stares at us and then starts walking towards us and then along the fence as we pull in. It looked like a what are you doing on my property glare. Then as we pulled up to their garage the drive curves around and we park. When we get out of the truck and go about our business we look up and there is the horse, on the side of the pen just glaring at us! By then me and my partner, Chris, are about ready to accept his challenge and throw down, but we had a job to do so we shrugged it off. About half an hour later we finish and leave. As we are pulling out we look for the horse and it is eating so we just drive by. Then all of a sudden he shoots his head up and starts staring us down again! By now we are convinced that he was just acting like he was eating, like oh I'm not paying attention to you and I don't see you, then bam! He's calling us out. So the horse walks along the pen again as we leave. All I have to say is that he is lucky that we had a job to do otherwise Chris and I might have had to show that horse what happens when you call someone out like that. :-)
You can tell that Chris and I were bored that day too because we spent the trip back to the store strategizing how one would go about fighting a horse. We concluded that it would be best to try and stay on his side or close in front. That way you could get in some body shots and still have the chance for some big uppercuts to the head with the option to come down and smack them on the nose.
